Ms. Sapelo Bantsi

Non- Executive Director – Chairperson

Ms Sapelo Bantsi is currently the Finance Operations Head of Mascom Wireless Botswana. In her role, she is responsible for the overall financial management of Mascom’s operations, including financial planning and reporting. Sapelo is charged with ensuring that the Board and Audit Committee are given adequate information on financial disclosures. Sapelo has extensive financial experience.

Her career took off in 1992 when she joined Debswana Diamond Company, Orapa as Assistant Internal Auditor. She later joined Botswana Telecommunications Corporation as Accounting Services Manager from 2001- 2002, then joined BP Botswana (Pty) Ltd as Finance Manager. In 2008-2011 she joined Tati Nickel Mining Company, as Chief Financial Accountant. She later joined Botswana Meat Commission from 2011 – 2013 as Finance Manager. Sapelo is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants in good standing. She also holds Bachelor of Commerce & Accounting from University of Botswana. She also completed an Executive Development Programme with University of Stellenbosch.

Ms. Zoe A. Isaacs

Non- Executive Director – Vice Chairperson

Ms. Zoë Angela Isaacs is the former Director, Business Development Services at Business Botswana (BB). Ms. Isaacs holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Botswana.

Zoë has served in different Board Committees, amongst them, Member of the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) Committee on Finance and Business Development, Member of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Fund Committee. Zoë has held different positions from the Business industry. She started her career as Assistant Accounts Officer at the Botswana Building Society (BBS) from 1989 to 1990. Ms. Isaacs also served as Senior Project Officer from 1990 to 1996 at Botswana Development Corporation (BDC). After working for Caltex Oil Botswana from 1996 to 1998 as Commercial Sales Representative, she joined Peo Holdings (Pty) Ltd (renamed Peo Venture Capital) as Portfolio Manager.
Prior to joining Business Botswana, Isaacs worked for Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) as Acting Deputy Chief Executive – Operations. Responsible for the overall
management for the activities of the Organization, providing broad strategic vision and leadership for the operations of CEDA. She also held different positions of Entrepreneurial Development Manager (Head of Department Training and Mentoring Department).

Tebogo Tomango

Non- Executive Director

Tebogo Tomango is a seasoned public sector professional with 32years experience in the field of Public Financial Management (PFM)and currently holds the position of Accountant General of the Republic of Botswana. With a strong background in Internal Auditing and Public Sector Finance, Tebogo Tomango has achieved notable success in key Public Sector Reforms and initiatives aimed at digitalization of key Government processes thus ensuring efficient delivery of services. She has also been instrumental in key legislative reforms in the procurement and public financial management spheres. She has extensive board experience attained from years of board membership in a number of organizations. Her key performance areas include amongst others; provision of strategic direction to ensure successful delivery of mandate, ensuring successful implementation of projects, providing expert advice and dispensation of fiduciary responsibility as per directorship roles.

Tebogo Tomango holds a Bcomm. Degree from the University of Botswana and a Master of Science in Audit Management and Consultancy from Birmingham City University – United Kingdom. She has also attended training programs on amongst others; Fraud Detection and Prevention, Monitoring and Evaluation of PFM Reform Programmes, Leading Change; Strategy, People and Processes (RIPA), Public Financial Management: Planning and Control, Certified Risk Analyst, Risk Management and Corporate Governance, Executive Leadership in Action (ILM endorsed) and Corporate Governance (The Evolution of ESG and AI in Governance).

Tebogo Tomango is committed to effective and efficient service delivery and is self-driven and always strives for success in whatever she does.

Dr Kealeboga S. Masalila

Non- Executive Director

Dr Kealeboga S. Masalila is a Deputy Governor at the Bank of Botswana, appointed in December 2016, and oversees the Research and Financial Stability, Financial Markets, Statistics and Data Management, Human Capital, Information and Communications Technology, Protective Services, as well as Procurement and Property Management Functions.

Prior to appointment as Deputy Governor, he had been Director of the Research and Financial Stability Department from 2010, an area where he spent most of the over 30 years he worked at the Bank of Botswana. He has also worked in the Banking Supervision area of the Bank and under the Special Appointee programme at the International Monetary Fund, as well as the then Ministry of Trade and Industry. Dr Masalila has a special interest in monetary and exchange rate policies and financial sector regulation and reforms, and has contributed research and policy papers in this regard. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Botswana and subsequently studied in the UK and obtained an MPhil in Monetary Economics from Glasgow University and a PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester.

Tsametse Mmolai

Non – Executive Director

Head of Listings & Trading - Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE).

Mr. Tsametse Mmolai is currently Head of Listings & Trading at Botswana Stock Exchange. He started his career at Botswana Insurance Fund Management (BIFM) as the Investment Accountant and joined Botswana Stock Exchange in 2008. Tsametse graduated with a BCom (Finance) from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia and he is an accredited member of the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa.

He also attended Compliance and Financial Regulation courses at the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission, the International Centre Parliamentary Studies, in London, England, as well as the University of Cape Town. He also completed the Management Development Programme (MDP) and the Executive Development Programme (EDP) with the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

Catherine Nonina Monageng

Non – Executive Director

Ms. Catherine Nonina Monageng is a certified professional accountant with 14 years’ experience in accounting and audit environments. Ms. Monageng’s career started as an auditor with Grant Thornton Botswana. After eight (8) years in the audit field, she joined Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) where she assumed the executive role of Finance and Administration Manager. Outside finance, she led various functions including Procurement, IT, Administration and Human Resources.

She is currently the Head of Finance at Non- Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA), a supervisory body for the non-bank financial institutions sector. Ms. Monageng is an associate member of both the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) (United Kingdom-UK). Ms. Monageng graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Botswana. In addition to her academic qualifications, she has completed a leadership program at Stellenbosch Business School.

Mr. Gobona Tobedza

Non – Executive Director

Mr. Gobona Tobedza is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), as well as fellow member of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). Gobona is a graduate of the University of Botswana, with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree as well as Master of Business Administration Degree.

He also completed an Executive Development Programme (EDP) with University of Witwatersrand. He previously lectured in Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Taxation subjects at both undergraduate and post graduate levels at the University of Botswana. Gobona is also currently working as a project coordinator for ESAAG (East and Southern African Association of Accountants General) at the University Botswana, and also a member of Department of Finance and Accounting Board. He has over 25 years’ experience in corporate, academic, and consulting. Seven years were in the consulting and academic environment and the remaining 18 years were at middle management, executive and strategic levels of the corporate sector. Gobona has held several senior positions with several organisations: Director of Finance and Corporate Services (CFO) with Botswana Railways, Senior Accountant with Bolux Milling, and Branch Accountant with Grinaker Whyle.

Ms Galeboe Busang

Non – Executive Director

Ms Galeboe Busang is currently the Bomaid’s Chief Finance Officer and wields 20years of professional experience in executive and management positions with a focus on systems development, transformation, financial management, strategy implementation and leadership, governance, and reporting.

She holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the University of Botswana and obtained a certification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) through Botswana Accountancy College. She is a Fellow member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) and wields an Advanced Taxation Certificate.

Galeboe has previously served as a Trustee for the Peermont Global (Botswana) Pension Fund, currently serves as an Independent Trustee and Audit & Risk Committee Chair for Debswana Pension Fund.
